I’m happy to be starting the week off with a bit of fun. I absolutely adore ‘Trash the Dress’ photo shoots, probably because I would love to have the nerves to do it myself… but sadly I’m just not that game. The idea of buying a gown for around $2500, wearing it once (with great care) and then completely trashing it afterwards, is so devilishly carefree and fantastic! But far too scary for me. It does make for some pretty amazing photography though!
SaySo Weddings put together an event where they found 14 brides willing to ‘Trash their Dress’. The event was held in Adelaide early February. The brides were primped and pampered before the shoot, they enjoyed a high tea at the Stamford Grand, a beauty session and some fitting wedding entertainment. They were then let loose ready to wreak havoc on their gowns.
Two brides drowned their gowns in the ocean – which was beautifully captured by Lia Healy Photography
Three blushing brides took part in a very messy cake fight. The cakes (that were also trashed) were supplied by Crazy About Cupcakes, photographed by Bogart Studio.
Finally, Hody Images photographed nine of the girls as they fought it out with paint… I don’t think there is any coming back for the dresses after this shoot!
Looks like they had a ball! Maybe I could consider it…
This was all orchestrated by our friends at SaySo Weddings and Katrina Stanley, coordinated by Shannyn Pine of Elegant Glitz and captured on film by Adam Moore Productions.
Would you be game to try Trashing your dress?
Which shoot is your favoutite?
Happy Monday:)
