Monday To Sunday
As you will find with most venues, Saturday weddings tend to be significantly the most expensive day of the week. Getting married on a Friday or Sunday will still allow your guests the time to celebrate with you and will lower costs. Many venues also offer fantastic deals for midweek weddings and your guests will love an excuse to take a day off work for a long weekend!
Off Season
While weather and temperatures are often a factor, they aren’t too much of a consideration when getting married overseas or indoors. Aim to book your wedding outside of peak season (spring and autumn months being the most popular time to get married). The savings from this can really add up and will still ensure you have your dream day at your ideal venue. Getting married in the cooler months? Say Yes To The Dress
There is often a lot of debate about the wedding dress and how much you should spend. If you are looking to save some money on your gown, be sure to hunt around and find the best deal for you. Bridal stores often have sales, special discounts and events which can bring amazing savings. Enquire with a few stores to see what is available and keep searching for that perfect dress and that perfect price!
A Helping Hand
Your friends and family want your day to be as wonderful and magical as possible. Don’t be afraid to accept their help or even ask for their assistance. You may be surprised how many people are wanting to help make your bridal dreams come true. Having your loved ones help out with setting up, cooking, creating floral arrangements or invitations can save you a lot of time and money. Additionally, if you have any relationships with wedding vendors, ask if they are able to help you out in lieu of a wedding gift.
Money, Money, Money
Times are changing and couples are getting more and more creative with their gift registries for both their engagement parties and weddings. Rather than asking for gifts, create a wishing well and ask guests to donate money to you. This can help you have a bit more funding behind your wedding or honeymoon, help pay off those credit card bills and give you a little bit more wiggle room in the budget.
Time Is Money
When you first get engaged and start planning your wedding, it’s crucial that you assess your budget. The further ahead you plan your wedding, the more time you will have to save. Look into venues and your funding and work out the best time to get married. From here, map out a budget and savings plan. There is nothing wrong with a longer engagement and it gives you extra time to plan your dream day!
Self Supply
A lot of venues require you to use their vendors or organise catering or decor through the venue. Sometimes this can give you little wiggle room when it comes to both options and cost. Try and find a venue that will allow you to use your own vendors or supply your own products. You would be surprised how much you can save if you bring your own alcohol, decor and florals!
Sale Away
Always keep an eye out for sales! Whether it’s for your bridal shoes, bridesmaids dresses, accessories or beverages, take advantage of the great savings that you can make during sale times. Every little bit of saving counts!
Location, Location, Location
Keep your ceremony and reception in one location rather than travelling. This will save costs when it comes to transport and having to set up both locations. Many hotels, vineyards and larger wedding venues will have areas dedicated to both the ceremony and reception and will often include a variety of different areas for your wedding photos.
