THE 2017 REAL WEDDING WRAP UP
Today, we are looking back at the stunning real weddings that graced our pages and stunned our computer screens this year. A big thank you to each and every couple that inspired us and submitted their real wedding this year – they were all stunning and we wish we could share them all! But for now, here are our top 12 weddings for 2017!
January
There’s nothing quite like the smell of fresh roses. Their scent is particularly special to Lara and Dave as it reminds them of two very important events: their engagement and wedding. On both occasions they found themselves in rose gardens. With a setting like that, their big day was guaranteed to be full of romance!
February
Marc had spent 12 months designing the perfect ring for Rebecca. He’d planned a romantic proposal in Paris but the ring came early and he was driven crazy trying to hide it in their apartment. He couldn’t wait any longer. Marc asked Rebecca to marry him one evening while they were watching a movie at home. Two years later, they said their wedding vows under the same arches that appeared in the movie when he proposed.
March
The brief for Jaimee and James’ dream wedding was simple: a big party in a magical setting. The day turned out even more beautiful than they could have imagined! The couple live in L.A but flew home to marry on a private property on the Mornington Peninsula. They celebrated poolside with Espresso Martinis in hand, under a canopy of fairy lights.
April
From a traditional church ceremony to a unique reception in a converted theatre, Stacy and David’s wedding was a fusion of modern style and old-school charm. The couple entertained their guests with a dessert bar, live entertainment and even a surprise choreographed first dance to ‘Uptown Funk’ by Bruno Mars.

After Andy’s underwater marriage proposal, which Lauren describes as the”most adventurous, thoughtful and fun proposal ever”, the couple tied the knot under a beautiful big fig tree overlooking Watsons Bay. The relaxed wedding reflected Andy and Lauren’s laid back personalities. They even learnt to row a boat during their wedding photos!
June
Sheila and Mathew had the right idea when it came to planning their ultimate wedding: elope to the beautiful tropical island of Hawaii! Luckily 50 of their friends and family decided to make the trip and celebrate with them in one of the most spectacular settings on earth.
July
This destination wedding in Florence, Italy is styled with simple elegance and drenched in Tuscan sun. Sharlene and Craig’s wedding photos feature breathtaking views of the city of Florence, a white floral arbour and golden accents.
August
Being a third generation farmer and living on a cotton farm meant that a wedding in the countryside was the perfect setting for Glen and Hannah’s big day. The theme for the wedding drew on the colour palette of the surrounding landscape paired with classy boho style elements.
September
Accents of navy and blue stripes and “tying the knot” set the theme for this Hamptons wedding, held at Bells at Killcare.
October
Drew and Emilly returned to the place where they first met to celebrate their special day; cliffside in an elegant and tropical destination day, complete with a wall of greenery and abundant fresh white florals.
November
Ashlee and Mark enjoyed a vintage glam real wedding with a European flair set in the Margaret River.
December
Classic elegance, timeless charm and a pop of bling were the foundations for Bec + Callum’s tropical Queensland real wedding, set in the most perfect glass chapel.
