I wanted to share with you this vibrant, divine wedding that the very talented Something Blue Photography has sent me.
I am in love with the retro/vintage feel this wedding and the photographs have, it is just as though they are from another time where style and grace is paramount. You must read their story also – they sound like a fantastic couple!
Adam says he fell in love with Sarah the moment he saw her sitting on her lounge room floor making her own speaker cables from scratch. Since that moment Sarah and Adam have moved house 8 times, driven over 10,000 k’s to spend time with each other, gone overseas 5 times together and kept up their mad pace of life with the purchase and renovation of a town house.
It was during the reno’s of their new home that Adam popped the question.
His recollection:
“Drunk on my largest purchase to date, and feeling like conquering a large country would have been simpler, a gigantic box containing a ring bulging from a certain persons pocket made this all a bit obvious. Bent knee, giggle giggle giggle, shock and fear at having made monumental decisions in but a short few weeks makes it all feel pretty normal and very much the functional existence that is Sarah & Adam. Only a bintang singlet could have made all of this more perfect (oh wait…) ;-D”
Her recollection:
“We had gotten the keys to the terrace that afternoon and having eaten a nutritious dinner of pizza and bubbles with our friends set about pulling out carpet and ripping down walls. I remember being pretty awestruck by the size of the task at hand but really excited. After everyone left and it was time to pack up and head home for the night Adam disappeared saying he needed to put some tools in the truck. He came back in talking about how exciting it all was and how it was going to get even more exciting before getting down on bended knee… After the giggling”
Their wedding reflected Adam and Sarah’s personalities and their love of retro style and vintage.
Their ceremony was light hearted and simple “possibly a reflection of our agreement to plan the ceremony whilst we were poolside in Fiji with mojito in hand.”
Both Sarah’s parent gave her away, and one of Adam’s friends did a reading for them (on loving the wrong person- Andrew Boyd, Daily Afflictions) which made the congregation burst out in laughter. The couple also wrote their own vows.
“Adam and I decided on using 3 large tables to seat our guests to provide a sense of a big family dinner or a great night out at a restaurant. I remember Adam and I sitting back and absorbing the sound of laughter and talking at one point in the night and appreciating the joy of having so many amazing friends and family in the room. ”
