After what seemed like an endless week of dreary down pours Joyce and Peter were blessed with a bright and sunny day. Their rustic-chic inspired wedding at Sydney Polo Club began with some traditional Chinese games and a tea ceremony.
Joyce chose the beautiful ‘Anya’ sequinned gown with the ‘Genevieve’ overlay from Karen Willis Holmes. Radiating elegance, she shimmered in the sunlight as she made her way down the aisle, escorted by her brother.
“To this day I am still so wowed by the dress, the way it made me feel and how it allowed me to carry myself with confidence. Knowing I had found my dream dress was just an amazing feeling,” says Joyce. “From the first time I tried the dress on it instantly put a smile on my face, I pictured the elegance of the dress coupled with the elegance and charm of the Sydney Polo Club. My experience with the Karen Willis Holmes staff was incredibly enjoyable, they came on the journey with me in finding and styling the perfect wedding dress.”
The couple chose to DIY lots of the rustic elements of their wedding day to add unique and meaningful touches to their day. “We wanted a Rustic, yet sophisticated setting. We fell in love with the Polo Club as soon as we set foot on the property due to it’s beautiful lush green fields with the contrast of the Rustic Barn yards. We knew that we didn’t need to do a lot of work with the styling as we could let the beautifully manicured surrounds and natural textures in the landscape be the backdrop to our wedding.”
“We had a lot of fun soaking up the beauty of our surrounds and exploring the grounds of the Sydney Polo Club, it was like one big adventure each time our photographer led us to a spot to have our location shots,” says Joyce. “I loved that we could create so many narratives through our photos, all on the one property, it was so much fun!”
For groom Peter the most memorable parts were seeing Joyce walking down the aisle in her wedding dress for the first time and the coming together of family and friends at their ceremony and reception. He also fondly recalls “Our First dance as husband and wife was perfect and topped off by our amazing same day edit highlight was just perfect!”
