Some weddings come together so well they should be viewed in an art gallery, well that’s what I think about the stunning wedding of Jewels and Mike. Captured by the very talented Chris Prestidge from atdusk photography, this wedding playfully appeals to your inner-child, whilst retaining a sophisticated, vintage spirit. Yes, I’m in love with this wedding!
Here is the beautiful photography from the wedding – now you can fall in love too!
From Jewels:
We wanted the day to be fun for everyone, and had oversized chess, croquet and picnic blankets planned for roving canapes to be served upon. The beautiful Southern Highlands thew us a curve ball with some cooler weather, so these ideas were brought into the ballroom instead. We had live music from the talented Groove Academy, which we brought down from Sydney – they played 3 sets throughout the night an really created a warm, romantic energy. We seized a short break in the weather to have our ceremony outside as we had planned, it was a really heartfelt, sweet ceremony with some laugh out loud moments which was just what we were after. When the celebrant announced ‘Mr & Mrs’ for the first time, our live band hiding amongst our guests broke into Frankie Valli’s ‘Can’t take my eyes off you’- quite a moment.
We took off into the grounds at Summerlees for a quick photo session, while our guests tucked into the delicious canapes by the amazing Darren Robertson.
After dinner we cut our divine Faye Cahill 3 tier cake so it could be plated up for dessert – she was able to interpret the illustration from our invitations & Jam/Relish Bomboniere’s onto the cake which was incredible.
We had our first dance to ‘My baby just cares for me’ by Ella Fitzgerald – followed by a 1 hour set by a Greek Band who had everyone up and dancing in a flash. The Groove Academy continued to entertain the heaving dance floor for the rest of the night where we did an impromptu modern interpretation of the garter/bouquet toss – with no announcement we just began tossing around the garter/bouquet like a game of hot potato. After our goodbyes we skipped across the grounds to Summerlees Cottage where we spent our first night as husband and wife.
