From the beginning there were fireworks between Andrew and Carolyn and their wedding day, surrounded by friends and family, was nothing short of spectacular too.

We first met…
We met through friends at a birthday in Woolwich. About a month in we knew this relationship was different to any other we had ever been in.
The proposal…
We got engaged in Bali in our villa. Andrew had organised a dinner and we came back to the villa and it was filled with flower petals and candles everywhere and then he proposed.
The wedding…
We wanted a simple wedding with lots of greenery and white flowers. We wanted something not over the top and lots of focus on florals. We decided on a hanging floral piece behind the wedding table with greenery and white florals and jars of flowers and candles along every table. The floral arch from the church was brought into the reception and put on the balcony for people to walk through when they arrived.
The ceremony…
The ceremony was held at Holy Name of Mary Parish in Hunters Hill. We had five people each in our wedding party. I had my two sisters and three closest friends and Andrew had his two brothers and three of his closest friends, one of which was the friend who introduced us. The bridesmaids wore Zimmermann dresses, each altered to their choice so each looked a little different.
The reception…
We had our reception at L’Aqua Terrace Room at Cockle Bay. We had a sit down reception. The evening began with canapés, before the guests sat down. Then for entrees it was Truffle Infused Osso Bucco Ravioli or an Antipasto platter; mains were Roasted Loin of Lamb or a Beef Mignon and dessert was a choice of a Banana Pudding or Lemon and Lavender Parfait. It was delicious!
The best part was being able to spend the night together with our closest friends and family. I loved the moment when we were in the car together on the way to the reception, just the two of us, watching the fire works. After the speeches were done we could dance and have lots of fun. It was such a magical night.
The guests left with a bag of macaroons and personalised cards attached.
The gown…
I loved my wedding gown, made by my friend Prea James. I took inspiration from a Reem Acra cropped dress and Prea and I worked together in making it a dress with two cut-outs and adding a split. She is the most amazing wedding dress maker and made the experience so easy and fun.
The photographer…
Our photographers were Grace & Tim from Willow & Co. We chose them because my sister had used them the year before and they were so much fun and all the photos were amazing.
Words of wisdom…
Don’t sweat the small stuff. It’s your wedding and about the both of you. Just remember to make each other happy and not to worry too much about everything else.
