Inside Mia and Hamish’s Cinematic Wedding at Mona Farm

Modern Wedding Posted: May 13, 2026

When Mia first met Hamish, there was an undeniable sense that they already knew each other.

Although the couple officially connected online, Mia had spotted Hamish years earlier while she was in another relationship. When they eventually matched, everything unfolded quickly and naturally.

“After our first date, I just knew,” Mia shares. “Within two weeks we were officially together, and honestly, neither of us has looked back since.”

That same feeling of certainty guided every decision as they planned the wedding of their dreams.

Set within the enchanting grounds of Mona Farm, Mia and Hamish’s celebration was designed to feel like a romantic escape to the English countryside. With its historic architecture, curated art collection and breathtaking gardens, the property offered the perfect setting for a wedding that felt whimsical, immersive and entirely transportive.

“The moment we visited Mona Farm, it felt like stepping into another world,” Mia says. “It genuinely felt like our own little piece of Europe for the weekend.”

A Celebration Designed as a Journey

From the outset, the couple wanted to create something deeply personal and unlike a traditional wedding. Rather than centring the day in one location, they imagined a celebration that unfolded in chapters, with guests moving through the estate and discovering a new atmosphere at every turn.

The experience began long before the wedding itself, with hand-illustrated invitations by Belinda Xia inspired by the Mona Farm grounds.

On the day, guests were welcomed into the rose garden before making their way to the croquet lawn for the ceremony. From there, the celebration continued into the Ring of Trees for post-ceremony canapés, where towering trees and live performers created an almost theatrical setting. As the sun began to set, guests crossed the bridge into a whimsical golden-hour moment before arriving at the marquee for an unforgettable reception.

Each transition was intentional, creating a sense of movement and discovery.

“We wanted the day to feel whimsical, romantic and immersive,” Mia explains. “Almost like guests had been transported somewhere completely different for 24 hours.”

A Cinematic Soundtrack

If there was one element Hamish was especially passionate about, it was the music.

Together, the couple worked closely with Stellaire to design a soundtrack that shaped the emotional arc of the entire celebration. Rather than approaching entertainment as a series of separate performances, Stellaire curated a seamless progression of sound that evolved throughout the day.

The ceremony began with a live baby grand piano on the croquet lawn, setting a soft and emotional tone. Mia walked down the aisle to a breathtaking acoustic rendition of Unchained Melody, reimagined by Aisha from Stellaire.

“It was really cinematic and emotional without being overpowering,” Mia says. “I hadn’t heard many brides use it before, which made it feel even more special and personal to us.”

Following the ceremony, violin, harp, acoustic guitar and vocals filled the Ring of Trees, with performers positioned on podiums throughout the space. Guests were immersed in music that felt less like entertainment and more like part of the environment itself.

As the evening unfolded, the energy built naturally into a high-energy reception, creating a seamless transition from heartfelt ceremony to celebratory dance floor.

“It never felt like background music,” Mia says. “It felt immersive, cinematic and completely connected to the atmosphere we were creating.”

Sculptural Florals and Editorial Styling

Florals were another cornerstone of the couple’s vision.

Working with Studio Lauren Flora, Mia and Hamish embraced a more sculptural and editorial approach to floral design. Seasonal botanicals were transformed into layered tablescapes and artistic installations that felt organically connected to the surrounding landscape.

“Everything felt incredibly artistic and intentional,” Mia says. “More like botanical installations than traditional wedding florals.”

Sustainability was equally important, and Studio Lauren Flora’s environmentally conscious approach aligned perfectly with the couple’s values.

Fashion with Timeless Elegance

The bride wore a custom couture gown by Pallas Couture, designed to feel timeless, elegant and perfectly in tune with the overall aesthetic of the day.

Inside the marquee, soft draping and layered fabric installations added depth and movement, subtly reflecting Mona Farm’s artistic backdrop and reinforcing the celebration’s romantic, refined atmosphere.

Moments to Remember

For Mia, the most emotional moment was beautifully simple.

“Saying ‘I do’ to the man of my dreams.”

One of the most unforgettable moments came later in the evening when the newlyweds made their reception entrance. In a spontaneous burst of celebration, Hamish sprayed a bottle of champagne over their guests.

“It felt like a Formula One victory celebration,” Mia laughs. “It completely broke any formality in the best possible way.”

Advice for Future Couples

Looking back, Mia encourages couples to invest in the elements that shape how a wedding feels.

“If there’s one area I would absolutely invest in, it’s music, florals and the dress,” she says. “Those three things completely shape what people remember emotionally afterwards.”

Her most valuable advice is to choose creative partners who understand the bigger vision.

“Choose creatives who understand how to bring a feeling to life, not just suppliers who provide a service. That’s what people remember most.”

With its romantic setting, cinematic soundtrack and thoughtfully curated details, Mia and Hamish’s wedding was more than a beautiful celebration. It was an immersive experience designed to be felt, remembered and cherished long after the final song played.
