Whether you are planning a destination wedding in Spain or are looking to add a bit of fiesta flavour to your wedding, this styled shoot by Simply by Tamara Nicole is brimming with gorgeous Spanish inspired ideas.
Spain’s Southern European location puts it at at the centre of a myriad of cultural influences which gives rise to an eclectic signature style. You see the sun bleached seaside influence of the Mediterranean, the colourful patterns from Morocco and North Africa, the traditional style inspired by historic roots and of course the romantic influence of the Flamenco and Spanish Guitar.
This unique blend of regal style, vivid colours and relaxed feel is captured perfectly in wedding inspiration shoot by Simply by Tamara Nicole. “There was a combination of things that brought about this high fashion wedding editorial shoot” says Tamara. “One main inspiration was pulled from the Spanish ads from Dolce and Gabanna. The colors, the vibes, and the hair pieces/mantillas were just so fun and inspiring. Also I just LOVE Spain, and we have been a few times, the first time being on our honeymoon (now 9 years ago!). Spain is just full of so much vibrant culture, textures, traditions.”
Each aspect is balanced perfectly and gives the wedding just enough character without having an overbearing theme.
“We brought in a Spanish guitarist to seranade us along the shoot, but who really stole the show was Little Red Man, the miniature donkey from Lords Hill Farm. Floratherapie made him a floral crown, and having him there just reminded me of walking along a small town, with the local animals grazing about.”
Tamara worked carefully with her bridal stylist to ensure the look was traditional yet modern. “I knew we wanted to take this almost a rustic, old world vibe, while still being current in today’s trends, as well as romantic and soft. Our Bridal Stylist, Lindsay with Bridal Instaglam kept the looks very romantic, using lace (hello Spanish lace) as a main piece of inspiration, but tying in some fun fashion trends with the low backs, and full skirts. Bridal Beauty Agency really brought the Spanish feel with the fun dramatic lips, and neutral/smokey eyes.”
With so many aesthetic influences to work with, Tamara took to her love for interior design to help focus the styling. “One thing I love to draw inspiration from shoots for, is interior design” says Tamara. “I just love the look of the Spanish tiles in design, and wanted to incorporate that into the shoot as well. Home Art Stickers has the wall tile stickers, that they custom designed in our colors. Then we got actual tiles as well, from The Potato Farm. We even used a Spanish tile for a table number. Dianne’s Delights made cookies with edible printed Spanish tiles on as well! The plates, purchased from World Market, reminded me of the designs on the tiles too!”
“Lace! Spanish lace is just so inspiring and beautiful. Along with the bridal fashion, there was gold lace detail surrounding the terra cotta/peach colored ombre cake made by Nancy Kay Confections. Vintage lace overlays were draped across the Dessert Table as well as the guest table.”
Olé!
