G E T T H E L O O K !
Glamorous makeup will make any bride feel like a million dollars, and as a long-loved beauty look for many brides, we chose it as our beauty brief for the lustrous Navarra venues shoots we featured on the blog earlier this week. Each venue, like each bride, will have their own sense glamorous style so we asked our makeup artists to create two different glamorous bridal looks – one vintage and one bridal – to suit each venue.
Here’s how you can get the looks.
L O O K O N E – M O D E R N G L A M O U R .
T H E B E A U T Y B R I E F : A sleek, modern and sophisticated look with flawless, glowing skin.
T H E E X P E R T : Chereine Waddell
H O W – T O :
Skin: Prep skin with Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentrè and MAC Strobe Cream mixed together. For foundation I used MAC Face & Body mixed with Makeup Forever Ultra HD foundation all over the face. Conceal with Bobbi Brown Correct & Conceal palette under the eyes.
Softly contour cheekbones and temples with Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate and powder contour with Makeup Store Mineral Powder Gobi. Highlight cheek bones, bridge of the nose, Cupid’s bow and inner corner of the eyes with MAC Soft & Gentle. Set concealer with MAC Prep + Prime transparent finishing powder.
Eyes: Prep the eyes with MAC Paint Pot in Rubenesque. Use Viseart neutral matte palette to create a classic eye. Highlight inner corner of the eyes and brow bone with Makeup Store Pressed Pigment 24 Karat. Use Makeup Forever Aqua Black Creme Shadow on top tight line and smoke with black shadow along top lashline. Use Makeup Store Gold Digger eye liner on the bottom waterline.
Cheeks: Apply pink & bronze from the La femme blush palette on the apples of the cheeks.
Lips: I Used MAC lip fix in a deep tone nude and mid tone nude mixed together and finished with Maybelline Nude Illusion lip gloss on top.
Brows: Makeup Store Tri Brow to fill in brows and brush up with hair spray.

T H E B E A U T Y B R I E F : Classic, Old-Hollywood glam!
T H E E X P E R T : miss julie makeup
Skin: For flawless skin, I always start off with a Laura Mercier Primer which contains silicon so that the foundation will glide over your skin and also last a lot longer. Top that off with Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation which is the perfect formula to use for bridal makeup, as it’s not cakey and looks great on camera. Blend it well with a damp Beauty Blender sponge for that airbrushed effect.
Brows: We opted for a slightly more defined brow, to match the look, so we used Make Up For Ever Brow Gel in Blonde. This is an amazing formula, because the smallest amount goes a long way, and it’s waterproof so you can wear it whilst you’re by the pool on your honeymoon!
Eyes: We aimed to keep her eyes subtle, so we used two very light eye shadow colours – ‘Suspect’ and ‘Tease’ from the Urban Decay Naked 2 pallete, just to create enough depth. For that very vintage flick, we use our absolute favourite Stila Stay All Day Eye Liner, which again is waterproof and does not smudge!! Perfect for a bride’s big day.
Lips: For the ultimate vintage red lip look there’s no other colour I would recommend than Russian Red lipstick by MAC. This is one of Dita Von Teese’s favourite lipsticks and you couldn’t get any more vintage than her.
Step 1: Using a 1 inch curling tong, curl hair tightly all in one direction, in straight rows. Think Shirley temple!!
Step 2: Spray all over with hairspray, and allow the hair to cool completely for about 15 minutes.
Step 3: Brush the curls out with a paddle brush and spray again, once you have the right shape.
And boom! #vintageglam!
