We glammed it up and rocked it out last night at the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer VIP Launch at Lo-Fi Collective in Darlinghurst. We don’t often see inspirational shoots dedicated to months other than summer and spring, they tend to focus on the warmer months, which are far more popular for weddings. The stars and fashionistas were out in force, showing their support for the popular charity by wearing chic black and white.
Lara Bingle, Josh Flinn and Charlotte Dawson all sparkled, and the enthusiastic crowd of celebrities, fashion industry insiders and media revelled in the party atmosphere created at the funky Bourke Street gallery. Elaborate chalk illustrations curled along the black brick walls and wardrobes were set-up around the venue, showcasing the gorgeous new limited edition designs. A minimum of 25% from each purchase will go directly towards breast cancer research. This year seven of Australia’s top retailers have joined forces to design a range of black and white limited edition pieces, which will be sold around Australia from August to December.
Fashion Targets Breast Cancer is a global charitable initiative enlisting the support of the fashion industry to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research in young women aged 25-40. Next Friday 19th August Fashion Targets Breast Cancer will hold a Consumer Launch Event at the Piano Room from 6:30pm. Tickets are $15 at the door.
This year’s limited edition black and white products will also make their debut on the runway alongside some gorgeous Modern Wedding couture gowns at Runway for Research at the Mercedes-Benz Sydney Fashion Festival, during Sydney Fashion Week – August 23rd to August 27th. For more information and tickets visit www.MBFFSydney.com.au.
Come along and enjoy the parade… you may find a one-off gown that’s just perfect for your wedding! (And you’ll be helping to raise funds for breast cancer research.) As they say at Fashion Targets Breast Cancer “Add to your wardrobe. You could save a life.” What better excuse is there to go shopping??
