The Meeting…
Our journey began at the Star Bar nightclub in Clarendon Street, South Melbourne on February 5th, 2006. After 7 years of knowing each other, sharing unique & sometimes challenging circumstances we fell more & more in love with each other every day.
The Proposal…
In July 2012, Liam proposed on the balcony of our hotel room that overlooked the three volcanoes on Hawaii’s Big Island. Most of our holidays were always in Australian Winter as Liam is a Premier District Cricket Player of Prahran Cricket Club in Melbourne
Wedding Theme…
Our Celebration of ‘L-O-V-E’ had a vintage feel with a glamorous edge – ‘Where The Grass Is Green’ [the couple’s wedding stylist] referred to our style as ‘vintage glam’. We were keen on a black & white theme and were happy with some crystal, but didn’t want to go over the top with it.
Pre-wedding Celebrations…
After our rehearsal, we celebrated with our parents & bridal party by having a “Wedding Rehearsal Dinner” at The Carlton Wine Room. We had a private dining room in the downstairs cellar. We also had the customary “hens” & “bucks” days.

The Wedding Dress…
My wedding gown was called ‘Utopia’, bias cut in silk satin with beaded French lace and sunray pleated chiffon train. The backless neckline features lace panels. It was made by Deborah Selleck Bridal Couture of Yarraville, Melbourne who specialises in bespoke gowns. It certainly suited my height & long legs!
The Bridesmaids wore…
Long Black Alex Perry gowns which complimented my wedding dress
The Groomsmen wore…
Black Boston suits with black silk lapels.
The Flowers…
Our flowers were by Alice Wensor (Harvest Flowers). They were a combination of peach, lilac, latte, ivory & white roses, my favourite flowers. These colours complemented the black bridesmaid dresses as well.
Wedding Styling…
We enlisted stylist Michael Strownix from ‘Where the Grass is Green’ to create a look for us & guide us on our selection. Michael Strownix (he has won the Chelsea Garden Show) had so many happening ideas that we just had a good feel. We also used ‘Styled by Belle’ Belinda Ramanauskas who specialises in Sweets tables/lolly bars. She also worked with Michael to create the same theme happening throughout the entire room. Michael put together different looks for different tables with white floral throughout to tie it all together – we had full mirror tops on our bridal table & the central row of tables. The rest of the tables had mirror runners which were complimented with unique crystal rectangle tealight chandeliers. Several different size vases filled with roses, spider chrysanthemums, lyceanthas & Singapore orchids all in ivory were strategically placed over the mirror tops along with tea lights which created a beautiful spectacle at night! Lit Lanterns were hung from the roof to create mood & (have them moving in the breeze) which post ceremony lit up the dance floor. Our favourite feature was the giant celebration of ‘L-O-V-E’ sculpture which sat on the deck as the backdrop to the ceremony. It was enhanced by tea lights so in the evening with the Melbourne city skyline as the backdrop became the photo post throughout the evening.
On the Menu…

Main Course – Plated & Alternating
Seared barramundi, beetroot farro “risotto”, lardons of crisp cotechino,
balsamic onions, beetroot jus, lemon and parsley salad or
Char grilled eye fillet of beef, warm salad of roast sweet potato and
spring onion and green chilli, grapes and rich jus
Sweet Bowl Dish
Dark chocolate fondant, vanilla crème fraiche or
Tropical Eton Mess Рguava cr̬me, crushed meringue, passionfruit,
lychee foam
Supper Item
Beef and porcini pie, with tomato relish
The Cake…
The cake was from Laura’s Cakes in Fairfield, Victoria and Michael also placed the flowers on this in line with the colour scheme.
The Bomboniere…
We had a Sweets Table/Lollybar. It was amazing. It was designed by ‘Styled by Belle’ Belinda Ramanauskas. Belinda was fantastic to work with and kept our lolly bar in theme with the rest of the wedding. Mirror top and jars with crystal beads adorned the table with a black & white theme

Wedding Music…
I walked down the aisle to ‘You Are so Beautiful” Joe Cocker. We had six weeks of dance lessons and our wedding dance was to ‘All my life’ by American R&B duo K-Ci & JoJo

Wedding Photography…
We were recommended our photographer Nicole Taranto Photography by a friend who had also used her. Her pictures are modern, clear & concise and she captures all the ‘accents’ of the day as well as all the special pictures of the family. The photos are beautiful and they really captured our happiness on the day. Nikki’s photos are candid images while creating a completely natural look. The celebration of ‘L-O-V-E’ sign encaptured the theme of the day. The Melbourne city skyline on a beautiful sunny day was a beautiful backdrop to every photo including at night with the city lights also a backdrop through the clear glass windows surrounding Carousel.
