Think Twice…

Getting Involved…
You may have a group of 6 close girlfriends but only want to pick 2 bridesmaids. This is where there is a risk of feelings getting hurt. In this case, it’s a good idea to find other ways for your loved ones to be involved on the day. Consider asking one of them to read a poem at the ceremony, or MC the reception. Ultimately, they just want to feel like a part of your day!

Honesty Is The Best Policy…
It’s true, being honest is always best. If you are worried your decisions may hurt someones feelings, it’s best to be upfront and explain the situation. People are more likely to be understanding if they are aware of the situation and your feelings. After all, they just want you to have a magical wedding day!

You’re A Team…
Picking your bridal party may be causing you some stress, but you don’t need to go through that alone! You and your fiancé are a team, so be sure to discuss this together. Your partner may think of other options or opinions that hadn’t crossed your mind.

Keep It Simple…
If you are really struggling with picking the perfect bridal squad, then consider keeping it really simple. Many brides are now choosing to have no bridesmaids, and instead just enjoy the traditional bridesmaids activities with a whole group of girlfriends. This is a perfect way to make sure no one feels left out.

Just A Number…
Ultimately, the size and choice of your bridal party is completely up to you. If you want to have 8 bridesmaids, then go for it! This option does tend to remove the possibility of making your nearest and dearest feel left out. Keep in mind, a bigger bridal party can have it’s own issues and can be a lot more work so be prepared!

Coupled Up…
If your groom is wanting to pick someone to be his groomsmen, you may feel like you have to ask their partner to be your bridesmaid as well. This is can be a tricky position to be in, and needs to be handled carefully to avoid hurt feelings. Consider asking the partner to have another role in the wedding, rather than a bridesmaid.
