Growing up by the sea, Jacqui and Carl had always envisioned a coastal wedding day with a romantic and classic touch.
A Coastal Touch To A Classic Day…
Growing up on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, this couple dreamt of tying the knot in coastal sophistication. “We wanted to be near the water on our wedding day because we both grew up near the beach”, Jacqui reveals.
Sexy, glamorous… and still bridal!
The bride had always dreamed of walking down the aisle in a gown that was sexy, but didn’t skimp on looking bridal and elegant. Her dreams were answered by a Galia Lahav masterpiece in vintage style lace, with a sheer low back and drop waist. “As soon as I put it on, I knew it was my dress. The dress fit like a glove. I felt very glamorous – as you should on your wedding day.”
Jacqui styled her bridesmaids in dust blue gowns by designer Shona Joy, each clutching pastel blooms to tie in with their coastal theme. “We canted to use a classic, timeless colour palette of white and green tones for the bridal bouquet and reception flowers. The bridesmaids flowers were white with a touch of pale pink”, she says.
Ethereal and light filled…
The couple chose the Deckhouse, Woolwich for their venue, falling in love with the waterfront views and floor to ceiling glass windows on their first visit. “I loved being near the water and looking out at the Harbour Bridge in the distance – it was a beautiful place to watch the sunset on our wedding day.”
To make their reception seem like something out of a dream, they adorned the venue in white sails draped with fairy lights.
Captivated by cupcakes…
The couple knew they didn’t want a traditional wedding cake, so opted for something a little bit different. “We wanted something unique to us. We both love cupcakes and thought – why not have a cupcake tower of 100+ cupcakes!”
