These two beautiful souls bonded over travel, so naturally they had a blast creating their ultimate passion project: a garden celebration in Italy.
“We wanted to create a very intimate and whimsical atmosphere,” reveals Lisette. As a wedding stylist herself, she revelled in the opportunity. “Once we decided on Italy, we really wanted to stay true to the style and colours of the area.”
“I kept the décor very simple and clean, as I didn’t want to detract from the beauty surrounding us and the venue itself, which was spectacular!” Opting for neutral tones in the linen, dark chocolate Chivari chairs to add richness and elegance, and light, airy tones for the flowers, she brought it all together to create an intimate, romantic atmosphere.
The couple married in the Town Hall Gardens in Ravello. “The gardens were surrounded by centuries old villas and framed by the stunning Amalfi coastline,” notes Lisette. “The ceremony was conducted by the town mayor in Italian, which was interesting for the guests.” Carrying a bright, playful bouquet, and accompanied by a violinist, the bride was radiant in a gown designed by Victorian-based couturier Andrea Gorrie.
After they said their ‘I dos’ they joined their guests for a wander through the fairytale-like town and post-ceremony drinks in the piazza. A lavish seven-course Italian feast followed at Villa Eva, a private villa overlooking the botanical gardens with an exquisite view of the Amalfi Coast. “It was a traditional, seasonal menu. It was delicious,” recalls the bride. “In true Italian style, the reception ran until 3:00 am.”
