Get Married…
For all those couples who had to postpone their wedding in 2020, this is your year! This has to be one of our favourite New Year’s resolutions. Make sure you continue to be cautious and safe with your planning, but get ready to countdown to your dream day! Don’t forget to check out our tips for planning a wedding during a pandemic here!
Journal Your Dreams…
After such a difficult year, we think it’s so important to start the year with a positive attitude. Grab yourself a journal and everyday, note down what you’re grateful for, your goals, and your thoughts and feelings. We’re sure that after a tough year like 2020, you’ll have quite a list happening! If not, you’ll be able to reflect daily on what you have in your life and work towards your goals.
Self Care…
It’s decided, 2021 is the year of you! That means face masks, candles and date nights for yourself! Of course self care is about more than just bubble baths and movie nights. Make sure you are really caring for yourself mentally and emotionally, and putting yourself first!
Start A Side Hustle…
If you’re anything like us, you’ve looked at 2020 as a year of education and passion. So, take those skills and start your own side hustle! It doesn’t have to be anything huge, but make sure it’s about something you’re passionate about. You’ll be amazing at how accomplished you feel with a little business of your own.
Move Your Body…
We know that losing weight tends to be one of those typical New Year’s resolutions, but we’ve decided to mix it up a little! This year, it’s all about having fun and getting active! Moving your body doesn’t necessarily mean going to the gym every day, but just that you should be trying to move your body every day. Whether that means going for a walk, having a little dance party in your bedroom or doing some yoga!
Reduce Your Waste…
It’s time to become an environmental warrior princess! That means limiting plastic use, investing in reusable items and being conscious of what you’re throwing away. Our favourite picks are reusable silicone stretch lids, washable food containers and buying from companies that practice environmentally friendly methods such as producing locally.
Bury Yourself In Books…
So perhaps we spent a bit too much time watching Netflix in 2020…ok way too much time! This year, it’s time to turn the TV off and pick up more books! Whether that means joining a book club or just reading a few pages before bed every night, it’s time to bury yourself in some books!
Hydrate…
That’s right, we are becoming hydrated queens in 2021! Drinking enough water every day is something that sounds so simple, yet so many of us don’t do it! Invest in a fabulous water bottle and make sure you’re reaching your goal every day.
The Bucket List…
We all have that list of things we want to do in our lives, but if 2020 taught us anything, it’s that plans change! Try starting with something smaller and making a bucket list just for the year or even the month. Maybe this won’t include travelling or a new job, but you can certainly get creative with it. Break it into categories such as walks to go on, restaurants to visit and activities to try. You’ll feel amazing once you get to the end of the year and see how many amazing things you’ve done!
Volunteer your time…
We all have different stresses and responsibilities so this one may not be possible for everyone. If you are in a position to volunteer some of your spare time to a good cause, there is nothing more fulfilling. Try reaching out to some small local charities to see if they need a hand, or think about what amazing skills you have that could benefit a good cause. Added bonus: Doing this with your partner can result in some great quality time together.
Challenge yourself in the kitchen…
We love supporting local restaurants but it’s also great to realise your own potential in the kitchen! Whether you’re an expert or a novice, trying a new dish can give you a great sense of achievement. Try to recreate one of your favourite takeaways, or bake the next birthday cake instead of buying it. See what you’re capable of! Even if it’s an absolute disaster, you’re sure to learn a few things along the way. (P.S. It’s a great idea for a budget-friendly and Covid-safe date night at home!)
