Our guest bride blogger Alicia Loveless is here again to share with us the highs and lows of planning a wedding – this week is a high!
We’re reaching the busy end of our wedding preparations with only 6 weeks to go. Ring shopping, suit fittings, hair trials, dress fittings and the never ending quest for the perfect shoes has kept us both very busy. I have started a “detox” (with moderate success so far) and re-vamped my exercise program. I’m also trying not to get too much of a sun tan! But the most fun recently that we’ve had has been booking our honeymoon!
For our honeymoon we have decided that we want to go somewhere to relax, be indulgent and treat ourselves a bit. Classic honeymoon style. We have recently had a whirl-wind holiday where we went shopping in LA, stayed up late in Vegas, hiked in Yosemite and toured San Fran, so this time we wanted something a little more relaxed. We have decided to go to Thailand.
Thailand is the perfect relaxation destination. I took a rough itinerary of our ideas to our local travel centre, where I found my latest wedding fairy godmother, Nicole. Nicole waved her magic wand (I’m sure it was MUCH more difficult than that!) and produced the absolutely most perfect holiday for us.
We will be staying in a resort villa in the south where we will have our own plunge pool, and do all the beachy things like snorkeling and island hopping. After that we have a more cultural 5 days exploring North Thailand and Nicole has booked us in some great tours and a cooking class. At the end of our honeymoon we will spend 3 days ingesting the madness and majesty of Bangkok. I can’t wait to visit the floating markets, go on river dinner cruise and sample the roof top bars.
We can’t wait! I hope that I can share photos of the experience when we get back. It’s going to be fantastic.
