When Isabel and Gary found the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, they knew it was the perfect venue to host the show-stopper wedding they’d envisioned.
A traditional ceremony held at St Marks Church in Drummoyne was kept minimalist to focus attention on the natural grounds, the elegant three-piece string band and Isabel’s stunning Vera Wang gown. Searching for something simple but still modern and a little bit edgy, Isabel decided on the Odette halter ball gown, which featured a plunging V-neck, a ruched tulle skirt and Chantilly lace applique accents.
With the help of their planners, The White Project, and the hotel’s wedding coordinator, the couple transformed the Sofitel Sydney into a modern rustic reception venue that could accommodate all 350 of their guests. Incorporating natural features such as wood, soil, hydrangea blooms and greenery, they brought the outdoors in, “we both loved the look, texture and smell of the greenery and all the elements.”
The French-inspired three-course meal exceeded Isabel and Gary’s expectations and guests marveled at the five-tiered wedding cake.
The highlight of the reception was Gary’s surprise performance for his bride, “He came through a side door with the spotlight shining on him, singing live while walking up to me and then the confetti exploded and rained down!” Isabel describes Gary’s performance.
The couple praised Paper Crane Productions for capturing their special day, “they were so much fun to work with they did not disappoint!”
After all of the excitement, the newlyweds are looking forward to their honeymoon in June, “It will be bur first Europe trip together,” explains Isabel, “We’re looking forward to exploring London, Greece, Italy and France!”
The staff at Sofitel were so professional and knew exactly what they were doing. The Hotel wedding coordinator worked seamlessly with our wedding planners, I can’t thank them enough!
