Kathleen and Ibrahim met a party in high school, years later the couple wed in an intimate garden ceremony, complete with red, blue and rose gold rustic decor.

A messenger romance…

“We officially met in high school”, Kathleen reveals. “Prior to meeting we even had a few exchanges over MSN messenger back when it was trendy”.

“I then went to Europe for a few months on a family vacation. At this point I learned his value in my life, I felt a profound sense of loss as I missed talking to him. When I returned from abroad we made it official and became a couple.”

A fit and flare fantasy…

The bride always dreamed of a sleeved fit and flare silhouette and entrusted designer Nicky Velani with her vision. She clutched a bouquet of ivory, nude, blush and burgundy roses, ranunculus, orchids, dahlias and cyclamens as she walked down the aisle in this stunning ivory and pearl masterpiece.

Art Nouveau and rustic elegance…

The couple gave an ode to yesteryear with their wedding day styling. Bold reds, blue and elements of gold set the scene for guests at the ceremony, before guests were wowed by an array of votives, candles and a floral masterpiece adorning the bridal table.

“My style is quite eclectic and most friends expected me to be a boho bride amongst rustic decor. I wanted to throw them off and go for something more refined and elegant.”

“The vows were the most meaningful part of the day.

We have been together for 12 years, more than half of that time being long distance, we definitely beat the odds. Our vows were written, and Ibrahim’s words will remain the most sentimental and profound sentences I have ever heard from any love story.”
