Your wedding will likely be one of the most important milestones in life, so it’s no surprise you’ll want it to be truly unforgettable. No matter what your taste, your wedding day is a chance for you to be more luxurious and decadent than usual. Being surrounded by beautiful decor will add to the magic of your day, so amping up your reception styling is a great way to make your day memorable.
It’s important for your wedding styling to reflect your personal taste – it’s your day after all – but the challenge for brides often comes when they want to have a casual theme dressed up without it resulting in an over the top, lavish affair.
They key to maintaining your personal taste while adding an air of once-in-a-lifetime luxe is through the clever use of beautiful details. Stylist Michelle Edgemont under the art direction of Brunk and Saukok Tiampo of REVEL masterfully blend rustic country styling with wedding opulence in the gorgeous shoot below.
The shoot was based in Brookyn Winery which provided the perfect setting for a rustic wedding. The mixed timber walls, matching table and chairs and cement floor act as an earthy, raw base which the stylists built upon using a mix of rustic and glam decor. Lavender which is synonymous with country styling and decadent gold was the perfect colour palette for this mixed theme. The stylists expertly played with matte and shiny surfaces, from the matte velvet ribbon to the shiny golden leaves to add interest to the decor.
Wedding stationery by Minted was a mix of soft lavender with clean and crisp text in a raw paper envelope. The place settings used more romantic text set in rough crystal stones. Lilac roses were used in perfectly imperfect floral arrangements used for the bouquet and as table centrepieces.
Detailed table settings perfectly captured the rustic luxe look. Gold cutlery was set on burlap like napkins and was wrapped in purple velvet ribbon. Gold confetti birds and green plant clippings adorn the plates and are the perfect finishing touch.
A stunning hanging centrepiece was the masterpiece of the look. A row of golden leaf garlands hanging above the table added a magical sense of glistening autumn leaves falling from above. These beautiful garlands were paired with smaller floral arrangements to decorate the chairs around the table.
The use of rough matte crystals as opposed to sparkling crystals on and around the cake took a luxurious element and brought it down to earth which works flawlessly with this theme. Vintage glass candle holders and luminous golden vases were used in contrast to add a touch of glam.
We absolutely LOVE this rustlic luxe styling and this shoot is the perfect example of how brides with casual tastes can have a bit of luxury on their wedding day. Love this look?
