We have a gorgeous sweet-as-can-be inspiration shoot to share today. When this one hit my inbox I was like a sugar addict craving more… one shot just wasn’t enough! It is simply the perfect combination of doll-like glamour, sweet treats, gorgeous pastel colour combinations and quirky styling. It’s like a beautiful dream that you just don’t want to wake up from. Kassandra Utzinger from The Art of Sweet said “I wanted to create that surreal perfect fantasy tea party, the sort that children’s dreams are made of with decadent cakes, jars with candy spilling over the brim, cupcakes and every sweet delight you could dream of yet move it away from kiddies tea parties and into a world of high fashion, pouty lips and perfect curls!”
Kassandra’s key decor and theming inspirations were the cakes and macarons. “Everything started with the sweet treats,” she said. “With the colours and flavours for these chosen everything else followed. The amazingly talented Viktoria Novak created headpieces that complimented the cakes and cookies both in colour and style. The jars filled with sweets touched on that vintage lolly shop feel, the kind where you stare into their windows and start to drift and feel your knees go weak. But then, I’ve always had an unstoppable sweet tooth!”
She hopes that her pastel inspiration shoot will help encourage brides to indulge their daydreams and fantasies a little. “I want to give brides the inspiration to create that one perfect day where you step out of the real world and into the place where fantasy takes over. Where tea parties happen spontaneously and you can indulge guilt-free on decadent treats and laugh in the sunshine with friends.”
And that’s pretty much my perfect day right there.
