Stephanie and Martin’s trip to marriage bliss began in one of New York’s finest restaurants, when a waiter carried a silver platter to their table, whereupon a Tiffany & Co Summerset diamond ring was elegantly sitting. This was the token engagement ring, to be replaced by a ring chosen by Stephanie from NY’s diamond district the next day.
After the romantic proposal that night, Stephanie and Martin walked outside to their waiting limousine and visited a few of the city’s hottest cocktail bars, until the early hours of the morning.
What a fine way to start a life together! The fairy-tale didn’t end there. The couple went on to organise their wedding together and surrounded themselves with their best-loved things. “Martin and I collaborated on every aspect of the wedding, and ensured that it was modern yet elegant and themed around our favourite things.”
Stephanie’s dress was designed by Sottero and Midgley – an A-line gown with strapless neckline and corset closure. She paired her dress with Champagne coloured sparkly Jimmy Choo heels.
“My gorgeous bridesmaids who included friends from school and uni, as well as my sister looked amazing in strapless floor-length silver gowns designed by Ruth Tarvydas, which featured crystal embellishments on the neckline.”
The dashing groomsmen wore a charcoal Paul Smith 2 button suit with a pocket square and white paisley tie from Godwin Charli. The groomsmen were each given Paul Smith cufflinks to wear on the day.
“We had a large gap between the ceremony and reception (5 hours) because we wanted photos at a number of locations – Trinity Grammar School, Santa Sabina, Ivy, Observatory Hill and the Rocks. We spent about 90 minutes at the Ivy enjoying champagne and canapés while photos were taken – a great way to relax before the reception.” says Stephanie. The couple selected a range of bomboniere for their guests. The younger females received Victoria’s Secret lip glosses, honey for the older ladies. Mini bottles of scotch with personalised labels were given to the men and a box of ‘Steph (heart) Martin’ rock lollies was given to every guest.

Their cake was from Faye Cahill. They matched the colour of the bridesmaid’s silver dresses for the top tier. The bottom tier had a white piped pattern over a pearled silver icing. A few small David Austin roses in ivory and purple adorned the top.
Stephanie tells us “We took dance lessons in the lead-up to the wedding at Arthur Murray School of Dance and performed a choreographed dance to Elvis Presley’s Can’t help falling in love.”
