What’s better than a celebrity filled red carpet? A celebrity wedding, of course! Here are some of the stunning celebrity weddings that have happened so far in 2019.
Wedding Magic In France…
One of the most talked about celebrity weddings of 2019 was Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner’s romantic ceremony in France. After legally tying the knot in Las Vegas, with an Elvis Presley impersonator as the celebrant and ring pops, the couple had a second more lavish ceremony in Sarrians, France. The venue, Château de Tourreau, was adorned with chic white flowers and flickering candles in glass holders. Sophie wore a gorgeous Louis Vuitton lace gown while Joe opted for a handsome all-black tux. This means that all of the Jo Bro’s are now officially off the market – sad face.
Groom Of The Galaxy…
After an uber romantic whirlwind romance, Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger said “I do” at an intimate wedding ceremony in Montecito, California. The ceremony was held at San Ysidro Ranch, a luxury resort which offered the perfect backdrop for their romantic wedding. Both Chris and Katherine wore Giorgio Armani ensembles for the big day and looked absolutely stunning!
Wedding Princess…
Lea Michele looked like a real life princess when she married her partner, Zandy Reich, at Napa’s Carneros Resort in California. Lea’s elegant strapless gown was a custom Monique Lhuillier dress that featured a silk gazar draped over the corset-style bodice. The colour scheme for the ceremony was lush greenery and classic white flowers which created an elegant and timeless feel. Fun fact: the luscious ceremony was officiated by Glee and Scream Queens creator Ryan Murphy.
Classic With A Twist…
There were wedding bells for more than just one Glee star this year with Darren Criss also tying the knot to his girlfriend of 8 years, Mia Swier. The couple got married at the Ace Hotel in New Orleans in front of a star studded guest list including John Stamos, Lea Michele, Chord Overstreet and Harry Shum Jr. Darren donned a custom Giorgio Armani off-white tux while his gorgeous bride looked stunning in a strapless crepe gown with a full tulle skirt designed by Vera Wang. Mia added some personality to her bridal look by pairing her gown with white Doc Marten boots!
Hawaiian Fairytale…
After proposing in Africa in 2017, Miles Teller married his longtime girlfriend, Keleigh Sperry, in Hawaii this year. The ceremony was held in a gorgeous Catholic church in Maui and shortly afterwards, the celebrations continued at the Ritz Carlton Kapalua Hotel. The waterfront venue offered the perfect atmosphere for their intimate reception. Keleigh collaborated with Monique Lhuillier to create a dress that had the perfect, timeless feel while Miles wore a custom Celine by Hedi Slimane suit.
Island Dreams…
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was another celeb who tied the knot in Hawaii this year! Dwayne married his longtime girlfriend Lauren Hashian in a stunning beachside ceremony in August. The groom looked every bit the part of a Hawaiian groom dressed in a loose linen shirt and crisp white pants. Lauren’s Mira Zwillinger gown was a fitted number featuring tulle with an embroidered chantilly lace overlay that looked all kinds of elegant. We’re swooning!
Traditional Bride…
Ellie Goulding married her partner, Caspar Jopling, while wearing a gorgeously traditional gown designed by Natacha Ramsay-Levi for Chloé. The gown featured hand-embroidered white roses of York and took over 640 hours to make! The ceremony was held at York Minster in front of some very A-list witnesses. Guests included Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom and Karlie Kloss, just to name a few.
Celebrations For Days…
Idris Elba and Sabrina Dhowre’s three-day Moroccan wedding celebration was straight out of a dream. Idris and Sabrina said “I do” in front of 200 of their nearest and dearest at the Ksar Char Bagh hotel in Marrakesh. Sabrina wore a divine Vera Wang wedding gown while Idris looked every bit a movie star in a three-piece Ozwald Boateng suit. The couple’s African heritage was beautifully woven into their celebrations when a show-stopping group of Somali women serenaded the couple with a traditional buraanbur dance to a song written specially for them.
