A Romantic World Tour – Charlotte And Antonio’s Wedding – Part 1

Modern Wedding Posted: April 20, 2019

Charlotte and Antonio celebrated their love in a world tour of love, hosting weddings in both France and Spain. Their special days were so magnificent we simply couldn’t combine it all into one blog.  Part 1 of their European romance took place in beautiful Seville in the South of Spain.

Second Time’s The Charm…

After an attempted set up by friends in 2012, Charlotte and Antonio formally met in 2013 in Seville. “Friends had wanted to set us up a year earlier but Antonio never showed up!” Charlotte tells us. Early in their relationship, they knew that there was natural connection and the effortless fun they had meant they were perfect for each other.

A Royal Proposal…

Antonio choose to propose at the ‘Jardins del Real Alcazar’, the beautiful royal gardens located in Seville. This was a spot that Charlotte had wanted to visit for some time. After a day of exploring and enjoying the breathtaking scenery, Antonio asked for Charlotte’s hand in marriage.

Location, Location…

Due to the couple’s cultural backgrounds and wedding wishes, the planning began for not just one, but two incredible destination weddings. “With Antonio being from southern Spain, we needed to create a large wedding. It was 265 people for an evening reception, black tie dress code, all in a sumptuous Hispano-Arabic 16th century palace,” Charlotte says.

Winter Wonderland…

The couple opted for a touch of winter throughout their day. They chose cool tones of deep blue and rich reds with deep hues of green scattered throughout. Further amplifying the luxury, jewel tones were layered into the decor to up the regal element of their special day.

The Simple Things…

The couple wed at the Town Hall the day before the reception. Wanting to keep the ceremony itself intimate, it was only witnessed by the couple’s parents, siblings and bridal parties.

Something Blue…

Keeping to their stately theme, the bride opted for a mid-length gown for their ceremony. “We incorporated blue beads in the embroidery design that was based on the Arabic designs at the venue,” she says.  “The dress shape was inspired by the flamenco dresses that I own, as was the scalloping. A bright blue shoe brought a pop of colour to the bridal look, as well as cementing the traditional ‘something blue’.”

Costume Change…

The next day, the celebrations continued with a reception of 265. Here, the couple changed into their second bridal looks. The groom looked dapper in a green velvet suit, with the bride showcasing a romantic fishtail gown, coated with a soft ivory lace.

Regal Reception…

The groom was joined by 4 groomsmen, each dressed in a sharp tuxedo with burgundy bow ties. The bride was joined by her five bridesmaids, each dressed in a selection of rich navy, emerald and emperor purple tones.

Blue And Floral…

Decor at the reception was kept understated and simple, allowing the structure and detail of the building itself to be the main feature. Florals matching the bride’s bouquet were placed on each table, paired with candles in an antique silver glass. Elements of white and silver were scattered over the bright blue tablecloths, with the marble name tags adding a final elegant touch.

Sweet Blue Treats…

Guests were treated to both a cocktail reception and sit down meal. The cooler tones were further incorporated into the dessert platters with a regal blue and gold theme throughout the spectacular five tiered cake.

Tune in for part 2 of Charlotte and Antonio’s wedding tomorrow!
