Carolin and Adrian’s special day was filled with light and laughter. Cotton flowers, white roses, and touches of silver came together perfectly to create the winter wonderland wedding of their dreams.
Drawn Together…
The couple first met while Carolin was photographing a birthday that Adrian was attending. Adrian was very persistent, and after being friends for months, Carolin began to develop feelings for him. They both knew it was love when they couldn’t go a day without talking to each other. Adrian popped the question in November 2017 during a private tour of Centrepoint Tower. Knowing how much Carolin loves photography, the pair tried some different poses to get the perfect photo of their day. After standing back to back, Carolin turned around to find Adrain on one knee!
Winter Fairytale…
With their wedding taking place in July, the pair immediately knew they wanted a beautiful, frosty, winter wedding. With a silver and white colour palette, the theme of the wedding was carried through the crisp white decor, silver leaves, with even the bride’s dress, all encapsulating the concept of the big day.
Best Of The Best…
With Carolin being a professional photographer, she wanted the best in the industry to photograph their wedding. Emilio B Photography Studio was able to perfectly capture the magic of the couple’s special day, striking the perfect balance between editorial and natural shots for the pair to look back on.
Full Of Surprises…
With the bride wanting four bridesmaids, and the groom wanting six groomsmen, the pair ultimately compromised, settling on five each. Both parties were a mix of family and friends, with the bride’s maid of honour being her best friend of 12 years. Both Carolin and Adrian made a box full of goodies to propose to their bridesmaids and groomsmen, with the big question hidden inside the box!
Wedding Party Goals…
Initially settling on blush pink bridesmaids dresses from P&S Michael, it was quite a surprise when the dresses arrived three weeks before the wedding, in emerald green! Luckily, everyone fell in love with the colour and were able to avoid any last-minute stress. The groomsmen looked smart in custom hired suits from Top Ryde Tailoring while the groom wore a custom suit from Declic.
All In The Detail…
The bride’s incredible dress was custom designed by Yulia Mc Couture. Wanting a design that was timeless, Carolin picked a design that captured this feeling with its striking 3D floral effect, six-meter long cape and 5-meter long train. Not to mention the endless amounts of intricate beading, meaning the dress weighed 15 kilograms! But looking at the end result, it was all worth it to walk down the aisle in her dream dress.
A Timeless Story…
When looking for ideas for her dress, Carolin was inspired by her mum’s wedding dress which was designed 40 years ago. Wanting to incorporate a sentimental element into her gown, Caroline based the concept of her dress around the idea of having a cape attached to her dress, just as her mum had.
A Celebration Of Love…
The pairs ceremony was held in Holy Name of Mary, Villa Maria. Tying the knot in front of all their family and friends, the fairytale wouldn’t have been complete without a horse-drawn carriage!
A White Wedding…
Wanting to create an ornate winter wonderland feel for their reception, the couple decorated Curzon Hall in Marsfield with centerpieces reminiscent of ice, spectacular silver and white floral arrangements and candles to bring a sense of warmth. Beautiful fireworks also lit up the night, bringing that all-important sense of magic!
All You Need Is Food…
Carolin and Adrian’s guests were treated to a sit-down meal where they enjoyed an incredible selection of Lebanese and Italian food. Guests had their names engraved in silver mirrored perspex plates, perfect for them to enjoy all the delicious food throughout the night! So everyone could continue showing their love through food, the couple gifted everyone a bottle of olive oil as a thank you for being part of their special day.
Hold On To The Memories…
When the pair look back at their wedding, there were so many memorable moments. Adrian did a dance for Carolin in front of all their guests to “Sweet Caroline” by Neil Diamond which everyone raved about. As well as this, Carolin felt the last dance with her father was “a moment I will cherish forever”.
Here’s To The Future…
After honeymooning in the Maldives, Thailand, and Singapore, the pair are now excited to start enjoying life together as a married couple! With Carolin running her own photography business and Adrian being a builder, both are focused on achieving their career goals and traveling the world together. Looking into the future, the couple would love to invest in their dream home and start a family. Picturing themselves in 40 years, they hope to be retired and enjoying time with their grandchildren, living by the water and enjoying the simple things in life, such as having morning coffee with a beautiful view.
Not Enough Hours…
The biggest challenge for the pair when planning their wedding was that time truly was their enemy! Not being a super organized person by nature, Carolin found planning their big day while also running her own business very overwhelming. Looking back, she wishes she’d taken more time to enjoy the process as it’s such a special time in your life.
Priceless Advice…
Carolin and Adrian both had great advice to share with couples at different stages of organising their big day. The pair want to remind couples to still go on date nights and spend quality time with each other, and that “there is absolutely no need to be constantly talking about the wedding”. During the planning stage, it’s important to do your research before settling on any venues or suppliers, and don’t forget to always read the terms and conditions before signing anything! When the special day finally arrives, don’t forget to smile, laugh and enjoy every moment. “Nothing ever goes to plan, so no matter what, just smile. Always remember there is a marriage after a wedding.”
