Let them know you are having an outdoor wedding in advance
Give your guests some notice about where you plan on having your wedding, so they can tailor their outfit accordingly. You don’t want guests turning up to a beach or garden wedding in sky high stilettos!
Provide Comfortable chairs
Provide comfortable seating for your outdoor wedding. Although some guests are happy to stand, elderly grandparents etc will want the comfort of seating during the ceremony and cocktail time. Another factor to be mindful of, is the type of seating that you are providing is dependent on the season of your celebration. You don’t want guests sweltering on plastic chairs in the heat of summer.
Keep guests hydrated
If outdoors, it is important to keep guests hydrated throughout the day. Get creative with flavoured water stations, champagne towers or an outdoor bar.
Provide some shade
If you are expecting guests to stay outside for a prolonged period of time, provide some areas of shade. Think shade sails, umbrellas or gazebos. Keep your guests cool with personalised fans with your wedding program or #hashtag printed on them.
Offer tasty treats
Cheese and charcuterie platters, gelato stations or donut bars are additional extras guests will appreciate at your wedding. When choosing your food, remember that guests won’t be sitting down at a table with cutlery to eat, so finger foods work best.
Keep guests protected
Provide a protection station with sunscreen and bug spray to keep guests comfortable against the elements. Be smitten, not bitten!
Keep guests warm
Warm hearts and warm bodies! Keep guests cosy with blankets and throws draped across chairs for guests to use during your ceremony.
Think ahead
Think ahead, keep your eye on the weather report and act accordingly. If you are planning a beachside ceremony and there is a 99% chance of rain, provide shelter, or if you are having a courtyard winter wedding, and freezing temperatures are predicted hire some outdoor heaters to keep guests toasty.
