When it comes to your wedding, there are a million and one things to think about. Let’s be honest, it can be overwhelming! Over the years, Modern Wedding has picked up so many little tricks that will help make the whole wedding experience a lot easier! We’ve put together some of favourite wedding hacks to make your life so much better!
Breaking In…
Do not wear your wedding shoes for the first time on the big day! If you do, we can almost guarantee big, painful blisters and that is the last thing you want when you’re trying to dance the night away! Break them in well before the day, and have your feet band-aided up in advance…just in case!
Number 1…
When sending out your wedding invites, put a little number on the back and keep track of which number went to who! If someone forgets to write their name, or maybe it’s just a bit illegible, you’ll be able to check your list and find them!
You Can Really Dance…
Are you someone that’s always in the centre of the dancefloor? If so, it’s worth buying a pair of shoes just for the boogying part of the night. Some sneakers will make it super easy for you to relax and dance and means you won’t have to worry about that horrible feeling your heels would normally give you at the end of the night.
The Getting Ready Robe…
On the morning of your wedding, when you’re getting ready, wear a robe. Not only do these look SUPER cute, but it means not messing up your hair and makeup when you go to get dressed! Whatever you do, don’t wear something that you’ll need to pull up over your head. That’s a disaster waiting to happen!
The Kit…
You never know what could go wrong on the morning of your wedding, so be prepared! A few days before, pack together a little kit to help you prepare for any unforeseen situation. This might include a sewing kit, deodorant, body tape and a snack!
Fuel Up…
Chances are, you’ll be so busy (and possibly a little nervous!) the morning of your wedding, that you won’t eat! This is a huge no-no because trust us, you need to fuel your body before the big day! If you are planning to have a glass of champagne while getting ready, then food is even more crucial. Make sure you have a good meal when you start the day!
Texting Time…
There’s about a 90% chance that someone will text you the day of your wedding. Maybe they are sick, or need directions, or are letting you know they’ll be late (rude!). This is the last thing you should have to deal with on your special day, but someone’s gotta do it! Hand your phone to someone you trust, perhaps a bridesmaid or your mother, and have them take care of any little admin things that may come up.
Gliding With Ease…
Just before you walk down the aisle, do yourself a favour….put a little bit of moisturiser on your hands! And we do mean a little bit, don’t go crazy. This will just allow the wedding ring to easily slide onto your finger, without any hassle.
The New Address…
Safe to say you’ll be making a lot of enquiries in the build-up to your wedding, and it’s not difficult to accidentally miss one because your inbox is filled with sale emails and spam. The best way to avoid any miscommunication is to start a new email, just for wedding related enquiries! That way, everything is in one place and there’s no chance of confusion.
Stop The Sinking…
If you’re getting married outdoors or plan to be on the grass during the celebration, then heel stoppers are a must! If you aren’t wearing these, then there’s a strong possibility that you’ll sink right into the grass and trust us, it’s not fun.
