With inspiration drawn from the luxe style of Versace’s tableware and décor, this shoot acted as a live mood board of colours, themes and styles. JJ Events and Weddings enlisted the help of Medusa Hire to bring their lavish vision to life with an authentic Versace tableware collection. Each of the eight styled tables boasted its own theme to create an eclectic display of colours and designs. “I am a huge believer in creating and using mood boards, which is exactly what I did for each and every table,” shares Jess, wedding director at JJ Events and Weddings.

Firey Red…
Opulence meets luxury on this journey through colours and regal metallic tones spread across eight expertly styled tables. JJ Events and Wedding’s first table championed the Medusa Red Collection. Vibrant shades of red were elevated to a status of supreme elegance with touches of gold and white. Tones of mahogany, wine, merlot, cherry and ruby red tied together seamlessly to create a dramatic feel, ideal for an atmospheric winter wedding.

Dip In The Ocean…
The firey red table contrasted with the relaxed blue hues of the Medusa Blue Collection. Touches of white and silver brought out the tones of sapphire, royal blue and powder blue. This vibrant ocean oasis is expertly complemented by the Prestige Gala Collection where vivid shades of emerald and crocodile green are elevated to a sublime level of grandeur with fine gold details.

JJ Events and Weddings continued their voyage through the Versace colour wheel with a romantically royal collection of purples. The Meandre D’or Collection boasts a regal array of plum, grape, lavender, lilac and boysenberry to inspire your winter wedding colour palette. This rich colour scheme is dramatically contrasted by the soft tones of the Medusa Gala Collection. The final three tables showcased classic colour styling choices. The I Love Baroque Collection of dove grey and pale smoke exuded a similar traditional tonal feel to the Medusa Gala Gold Collection of tender pink, black, gold and white. The deep colour scheme of the Asian Collection, which championed shades of rose, apple and crimson, created an eyecatching look that could be adapted to suit every season of the year.

“The Versace tableware was a highline feature in this shoot,” explains Jess. “We aimed to create a feeling of luxurious elegance without overwhelming the tables with large instalments or other extravagant features”. The venue also played a significant role in shaping the luxurious atmosphere of the shoot. “It was imperative that we worked with a venue that not only understood the expectations of this shoot but also embodied the epitome of elegance,” shares Jess. JJ Events and Weddings recognised The Langham Sydney as the ideal location to illustrate their desired vision of divine opulence.

Finished With Florals…
Another key decision in the styling process was marrying the glamorous Versace vibe with the perfect selection of bold blooms. “We really tried to include various florals for each table to really portray a different look for each theme and collection,” shares Jess. The team at JJ Events and Weddings settled on a colourful collection of roses and orchids to ooze an extra element of elegance. The styling was made even sweeter with the addition of romantic high tea-inspired items within the Versace Dome.

The need for this shoot was born from the overwhelm of rustic bohemian vibes or oversoaked glamour of intensely decorated tables with little in between. So, JJ Events and Weddings created the perfect middle ground—a simple yet elegant styling theme with pops of colour. “With this shoot, we wanted to showcase that it is possible to achieve a wedding that is both luxurious and simple,” says Jess.
